Our Mission

To assist in the operation of the Bouse Public Library.

To support the Bouse Public Library for the community of Bouse and La Paz County.

To seek out and acquire available funding for the improvement of the Bouse Public Library, services available and special contents.

To promote the use and the improvement of services available to the Bouse community.

To coordinate and cooperate with the government of La Paz County to maximize services on behalf of the Friends of the Bouse Public Library.

A Brief History

The idea for the Bouse Library was started in early 2003 by Bouse resident Robert "Bud" Wall. After La Paz County took control of the Old Bouse Elementary School property the project started to become a reality. The Bouse Public Library officially opened for business on February 1, 2005. The only library service available to Bouse prior to 2005 was the La Paz County Book mobile run by Ruthie Davis, but with financial cutbacks this practice stopped in 2011

In order to apply for grants an organization needed to be established to handle all of the workings of the Bouse Public Library. The Friends of the Bouse Public Library was organized on July 18, 2005.

Friends of the Bouse Public Library fund raising efforts provide additional books, DVDs and other services for the libraries patrons.
